THE ONLINE HOME FOR CO 4713 MULTIMEDIA JOURNALISM

In my final semester at MSU, I am a Print and Digital Journalism major. For my first two years here, however, I majored in microbiology and then kinesiology. I have always been very indecisive, and the deciding what to do with my life has been no different, unfortunately. So after growing bored of learning the various muscles and ligaments of the human body, I decided to revisit my best subject from high school: writing.
For a senior in college, I am alarmingly unsure of my plans for the future. However, as I have begun taking pictures more, I am considering a career in the photography field, specifically wildlife. I think it could be a great opportunity to incorporate creativity and travel into a career, though I am not quite sure where to start. One of my favorite projects for a class was the chair project. It was fun to think outside of the box with an ordinary object, though my ideas tend to jump from too ordinary to too extreme, with little middle ground. That is something that I need to practice, but the overall process was enjoyable (minus hauling around a desk for a week). I am excited for this class’s projects to tie together multiple elements that we have been learning. Though I enjoy both writing and photography, I have less experience in videography, as I do not enjoy it as much. However, one aspect I liked in intro to tv production was learning how to edit and put clips together.
